I'd like to offer tribute to the deceased and to be a source of comfort to the families both in and around the organizations that he attended.  I feel for the loss as do many in the church as well as the large family he had.

It was a great shock when we found out Carl had Cancer and that it had traveled so fast.  Most of the people who got acquainted with Carl, love that man.   He was very kind and considerate.  He allowed people to grow and expand their personalities and ideas without heavy comment or criticism.  He gave a helping hand when ask.

So I'd like to Express my sympathy to his immediate family and to his greater family of associates, friends and acquaintances.

I recall when he and Dorothy put us up for the night in their place in Lincoln, MT.   They were a real home loving couple and I'm sure, wonderful parents and grandparents.   They sure loved Betty and me.  Of all the ministers I have met,  Carl touched my life tremendously.  He had the personal strength to stand for what he believed and I think was "Seeking the Kingdom of God" as a witness to that fact.

I was impressed with the qualities of patience, optimism, religious belief, resilience and competence in his work.  I wondered how he put up with everyone and all of their problems he delt with so long.

I'm impressed to the devotion of his family, and love during his life and also his last illness.  Your presence, your care, your attentiveness was only an indication of your love for him.

Betty and I both cherished Carl and know we will get to see him again sometime.

Arthur Schopenhauer                            (Carl Quoted this often)
   (recalling from memory)
"All truth passes through three stages:
        First it is ridiculed..
Second it is violently opposed, and
Third it is accepted as self-evident and was always believed to be the thing to do."

One of Carl's favorite sayings:

Any Way You Can
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight--build anyway
The good you do today may not be remembered tomorrow--do Good anyway
Honesty & frankness may make you vulnerable to attack--be honest anyway
People who need help can be confused and distressed and they attack you when you try to help them
Help them anyway
People are unreasonable, illogical and self centered--try to love them anyway
If you are successful, you may win false friends and true enemies--succeed anyway
